SR22

SR22 (the “SR” stands for “safety responsibility”) is a document that verifies that someone has automobile insurance. The SR22 is prepared by an insurance company and then filed (by the insurance company) with the department of motor vehicles (DMV). The SR22 is not an insurance policy. It is evidence that you have a policy. Delaware does not require an SR22 for DUI offenses. However if you have an SR22 filing in another state, and move to Delaware, you must maintain your SR22 in the state where it is required. 

FR44

The FR44 requires that your liability coverage limits are significantly higher than state minimums.
Individuals convicted of the following violations may be required to carry an FR44:
        - DUI (with or without injury)
        - Driving on a suspended license
The FR44 is not required in Delaware
